ERNEST SHACKLETON LOVES ME

Visually, the show leans hard into tech — big projections, a digital screen, effects that spill into the whole space — and it actually feels fresh, not gimmicky. You can tell the creative team really leaned into making this feel different from your typical musical.

Despite the inherent improbability of its premise—two characters separated by more than a century forming a connection—the production maintains its charm through committed performances and energetic direction by Craig Wells. The technical elements, combined with the actors’ versatility, kept me engaged throughout the brisk 90-minute runtime.

Under the superb direction of  Craig Wells, the pace never slackens, the surprises keep coming and the performances shine.  It is important to note that when Kat and/or Shackleton are seen with their musical instruments, they are actually playing them live.
